Baptismal font of the traditional German metal font design: a bucket-shaped based raised on a base made up of figures or animals. This font is dated to 1486 by an inscription, one of two which wrap around both ends of the basin sides; between them, and arcade of cinquefoil arches, each arch containing the figure of an Apostle identifed by the symbol carried (Peter's keys, Andrew's X-cross, etc.) The base consists of four images of the patron saint of the church, St. Catherine of Alexandria, represented with sword and wheel standing on the head of an animal, presumably a dragon [NB: a re-inforcement wooden base has been added to the original base].
