There is an entry for Church Lench [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP0251/church-lench/] [accessed 11 September 2014], and it reports a priest in it, although it mentions no church. Miller (1890) reports here a church "entered by a good Norman doorway [...] The font is surmounted by a well-proportioned and handsome cover". The Victoria County History (Worcester, vol. 3, 1913 ) informs: "In the 12th century the church consisted of a nave and a short chancel, but rebuilding has destroyed almost all traces of its early history" but adds that the present font is modern. The octagonal baptismal font and cover of ca. 1854 are by Preedy, who was responsible for the 1852-1853 restoration of the church [NB: the original building dated back to Norman times, but we have no information on the earlier font(s) of this church].
