Tunstall (1847) notes: "Its font is Norman". Kelly's Directory of 1883 reports "a curious old font" in this church. Wade & Wade (1929) report a "square font" in this church. Not mentioned in Pevsner (1958). The National Monuments Record [http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=32605] [accessed 21 September 2009] describes the font: "ashlar on an octagonal base, square bowl with decorated underside."
