There are three entries for Otterhampton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/ST2443/otterhampton/] [accessed 4 April 2018], none of which mentions cleric or church in it. Wade & Wade (1929) report a Norman font in this church. Described in Pevsner (1958): "Norman, circular. At the foot two friezes of saltire crosses." The Victoria County History (Somerset, vol. 6, 1992) notes: "The church contains a 12th-century font with an early 17th-century cover". The Churches Conservation Trust [www.visitchurches.org.uk/content.php?nID=11®ion=Somerset&churchID=217] [accessed 2 April 2008] notes a "Norman font with a Jacobean cover".
