The entry for this Northover in Kelly's Directory of Somerset [http://forebears.io/england/somerset/northover] [accessed 12 February 2018] notes: "the font is a fine specimen of Early Norman work". Wade & Wade (1929) report a Norman font in this church. A drawing of this old font is listed in The Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society (SANHS), Pridham's Survey of Somerset Church Fonts [www.sanhs.org/Documents/Fonts.pdf] [accessed 12 February 2018]. Pevsner (1958), however, notes "No furnishings of interest" in this church. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST5234823141] mentions no font in it. The entry for this parish in the Victoria County History (Somerset, vol. 3, 1974) notes: "The church at Northover, judging by the size of its estate probably in origin a Saxon minster, occurs in the Confessor's time", but mentions no font in it. [NB: despite the statements in the early sources above we have been unable to ascertain the presence of the Norman (?) font in this church [February 2018]].
