Noted in Wade & Wade's (1929) entry for Batcombe: "the remains of another font from Spargrove Church (now destroyed) are under the tower". Described in Pevsner (1958) as one of two fonts at the time [ca. 1958] in the parish church of Batcombe: "A second font from Spargrove, also octagonal, also Perp[endicular], but simply with quatrefoil decoration."
