Noted in the Parish church guide: "Font is believed to be 12thC or 13th C. It has been suggested the piece of Draycott stone on which the font stands may have been the medieval altar stone". The baptismal font consists of an octagonal with vertical sides and a chamfered underbowl, both plain; centre ring moulding; plain octagonal stem; octagonal-to-square lower base. The exterior of the font, especially the upper half, has been drastically cleaned or re-tooled, and it is not clear whether it was just as plain originally. The wooden cover is pyramidal octagonal, with raised ribs and knob finial. No mention of a font in Pevsner (1958). [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to Norman times, but this font appears to be somewhat later; was there an earlier font here?]
