One of two baptismal fonts now in Keynsham St. John's. This one consists of an octagonal basin raised on a pedestal base made of a cluster of a central shaft and eoight slender colonnettes with moulded caps and bases; on an octagonal plinth; the sides of the basin are ornamented with neo-Gothic panels in which are inscribed shields acharged with Instruments of the Passion alternating with the symbols of the four Evangelists (?). The font appears to be Victorian. The original font was probably damaged or destroyed when the tower collapsed from the effects of a storm in the 17th century, seriously damaging the nave and the aisles.
