Font Notes:
Although the fabric of thiis church dates back to the early 17th century, the baptismal font dates probably to the mid-19th century renovation done in the spirit of the Oxford Movement. The octagonal font is illustrated in The Gloucestershire Photo Library [http://www.allthecotswolds.com/] [accessed 5 January 2008]: the basin has plain sides with wide chamfers at top and bottom, the lower one serving as underbowl; below a thin moulding is a plain octagonal pedestal base raised on an octagonal-to-square lower base, and a square plinth. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decorations and ring handle, probably contemporary with the font. [NB: we have no information on the original font of this church].
