Site Location: Gloucestershire, South West, England, United Kingdom
Directions to Site: Located off the B4215, just NE of Newenden
Additional Comments: disappeared font
Font Notes:
Verey & Brooks (1999-2002) report a "Late Norman nave" in this church, but a "circular stone font, probably by Christian" [i.e., Ewan Christian, resposible for the 1877-9 restoration of this church]. This replacement font consists of a cylindrical basin decorated with inserted crosses at 90-degree angles, raised on a cylindrical pedestal base. [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to Norman times [cf. supra], but we have no information of the earlier font(s) of this church].
