Baptismal font of the 16th or 17th century consisting of a hemispherical basin with a short round base, raised on a quadrangular pedestal; the basin has a moulding at the upper rim and ribbed pattern around the sides and underbowl; the pedestal is moulded at the corners, with plain rectangular panels on the sides; the basin is unusually shallow for an early Mexican font, which may mean a later font following the designs of earlier times. The font appears to remain in its original location, below the present flooring level.
