The present font here is Illustrated in a 1833 drawing by John Buckler, now in the William Salt Library, Staffordshire Archive [www.archives.staffordshire.gov.uk/DServe/dserve.exe?&dsqIni=DserveV.ini&dsqApp=Archive2&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqCmd=Show.tcl&dsqSearch=(RefNo=='WA1/3/3/299')] [accessed 25 November 2007]: "'Font in Hampton Lovet Church, Worcestershire.' Showing an sexagonal font with a round shaft and an octagonal base. 'J. B.,' [John Buckler]. 5 inches x 5.5 inches." No font reported in Miller's entry (1890) for this church. The Victoria County History (Worcester, vol. 3, 1913) notes: "Portions of the side walls of the nave and chancel remain of the early 12th-century church", but does not mention a font in it. English Heritage [Listing NGR: SO8890465593] (1969) reports: "Parish church. Early C12 with C14 to C16 alterations and additions; restoration of 1858-9.
