The Victoria County History (Northampton, vol. 4, 1937) notes: "The building underwent a very considerable reconstruction in the 14th century, but the oldest parts of the present structure are the cylindrical pillars of the north arcade, which are c. 1180–90 [...] he font is apparently of late-12th-century date and consists of a plain circular curved bowl, slightly chamfered round the top, on a short modern stem and base. [...] The font was restored in 1850. It has a modern flat cover." The Three Parishes [Collingtree, Courteenhall & Milton Malsor] web site [www.threeparishes.org.uk] [accessed 18 November 2007] notes a baptismal font probably of the Transitional period in this church [NB: a church plan in the same source shows the font located near the south entrance].
