There are four entries for Frolesworth [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP5090/frolesworth/] [accessed 11 August 2015], none of which mention cleric or church in it. A font here is noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). The surviving battered basin of an old font is noted and illustrated in Leicestershire Churches [www.leicestershirechurches.co.uk/frolesworth-church-st-nicholas/] [accessed 11 August 2015]: "The original font now lies before the doorway whilst the present font is Victorian." The octagonal basin appears to have had some decoration at the angles and sides, but they are much too damaged for identification; there is drain hole in the centre of the inner basin; no base present.
