There is an entry for this Horton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/ST7685/horton/] [accessed 11 November 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Verey & Brooks (1999-2002) write: "Font. Norman bowl, cut into a panelled octagon in the C17, on a round pedestal. C17 wooden cover."
