Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Perp[endicular], octagonal, somewhat scraped. Shallow bowl with pairs of quatrefoils on each face, moulded underside with fleurons, stem with blind cusped Y-tracery. Wooden cover dated 1668." Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin, the sides decorated with pairs of quatrefoil panels all around, sandwiched between thick mouldings; graded underbowl chamfer, the lower part with added motifs [foliage?]; the octagonal pedestal has trefoil window tracery on each side [some details appear suspiciously Victorian -- was the font, or part of it, re-carved in the 1882 restoration of the church?]; minimal polygonal plinth with kneeling stone. Flat octagonal wooden cover; early. The font is noted as 14th-century in the Hartpury Parish site [http://www.hartpuryparish.org.uk] [accessed 19 September 2007]. [NB: the fabric of the church goes back to Norman times, but we have no information on the earlier font of this church]
