There is an entry for Harescombe [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SO8310/harescombe/] [accessed 13 February 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Verey and Brooks (1999-2002) note: "Font. Transitional Norman or E[arly] E[nglish], and exceptionally beautiful in its simplicity. Plain circular bowl on thirteen clustered shafts with small bell-shaped capitals with no necks." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO8373710416] notes: "Parish church. C13; 1871 restoration" but mentions no font in it. Flat wooden cover, round and with a scalloped edge; ring handle; appears modern.
