Font Notes:
Noted in Verey and Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Probably C13. Plain octagonal bowl with a circular roll round the top, on an octagonal shaft set on a square plinth with four claws or feet filling the diagonals." Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin of sides that are plain but for a flat moulding at the upper rim; in this area the font has suffered much damage, at opposite ends, probably from the forceful removal of the old cover staples; raised on a plain octagonal pedestal base which turns square at the bottom, the resulting angles adorned with a leaf/spur/claw motif. The basin well is round a lead-lined.
