There is an entry for [Great] Rissington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP1917/great-rissington/] [accessed 14 December 2018] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The Victoria County History (Gloucester, vol. 6, 1965) notes: "part of the surviving church was built about 1200 [...] The church was largely rebuilt in 1873. [...] The font is of the 15th century, much restored." The VCH entry gives "'Glos. fonts', Trans. B.G.A.S. xliv. 192." as reference. Noted in Verey and Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. C15; restored." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SP1951817152] notes: "Anglican parish church. C12, C15, C16, largely rebuilt 1873 [...] C15 octagonal font at the west end of the nave." Baptismal font of classical Perpendicular design, octagonal basin, the side panels with quatrefoil-in-a-circle-in-a-square, deeply carved; the rest of the font appears new but done in much in the style of the original basin.
