There is an entry for [Chipping] Campden [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SP1539/chipping-campden/] [accessed 18 March 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Fonts. One of 1839, a close copy of the late C14 font in St Mary Magdalen, Oxford.-- Half of another, fixed to the E[ast] wall of the S[outh] aisle, has E[arly] E[nglish] decoration probably worked on a Norman bowl." Noted with an illustration in Flicker, with original from Oxfordshire Church Illustrations [http://flickr.com/photos/oxfordshire_church_photos/265053941/] [accessed 3 August 2007]: "This font is based on the font of Mary Magdalen in Oxford." The octagonal basin has a band of blank shield-inscribed-in-pointed-quatrefoil motif all around the side of the upper rim, the sides covered in tracery pattern curving at the underbowl between buttresses or piping that continues on to the base; the splaying lower base is moulded and slightly concave, and rests on an octagonal volume and a larger octagonal plinth. The wooden cover appears Victorian, a flat octagonal platform with four curved ribs supporting a cross.
