"Wooden font from Holtskirkja in Onundarfjordur, with inscription in Low German that Roleif Eis made it for his friend the Revd. Sveinn Simonarson of Holt, 1594" -- now [July 2007] in the National Museum of Iceland. The NAT web site [http://www.nat.is/Churches/holt_church.htm] notes both the earlier font and the present one: "a beautifully carved baptismal [i.e., the wooden font] imported from Germany [...] The present baptismal [font] is the work of woodcarver Agust Sigmundsson."
