an object consisting of a shallow round basin of sleek design decorated with a protruding rim which has a pattern of ball-in-socket motif, then a pronounced scotia, and an underbowl with a ribbed pattern; by contrast the base is made up of two bearded kneeling atlantes carrying large sacks on their bascks; the basin rests on the sacks, not the atlantes' backs. Possibly a holy-water stoup?
