Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Early C19." Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin the sides of which are decorated with Ogee-style motifs and symbols (IHS on a shield inscribed in a quatrefoil, rosette in a pointed quatrefoil, etc.), under a pronounced graded upper rim; octagonal pedestal base with mouldings at top and botoom; moulded lower base, also octagonal. Wooden font cover, octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and Latin cross finial; appears modern. The Stroud District Council page for this locality [http://community.stroud.gov.uk/general.asp?pid=7&pgid=136] [accessed 3 December 2008] informs: "Pitchcombe Church was built in 1819 and stands on the site of a former Church known as the Pitchcombe Cradle which dated back to the 14th century" [NB: we have no information on the font from the 14th-century church]
