Font Notes:
The original church here was probably of the 15th century, as the surviving tower indicates; the rest is from the 1861-1863 re-building by Teulon. The modern font was originally beneath the tower, but has been moved into the nave. Verey & Brooks (1999-2002) note: "Font. By Teulon. Hexagonal bowl chamfered down to a central pillar with six surrounding shafts. The original wrought-iron lifting gear survives under the tower, but the lofty openwork metal cover has been shamefully relegated to the churchyard." [NB: we have no information on the baptismal font from the 15th-century church]
