The present baptismal font is in the tradition of the dark-marble octagonal design with concave sides, found in the Yorkshires in the late 15th or early 16th century; this one is dated from the late 19th century [cf. supra] by a plaque on the upper face of the basin; the plaque also identifies the donor as Sarah Middlewood. [cf. Index entry for Rufforth No. 1 for a disappeared (?) earlier font from this church]
