Baptismal font of pink sandstone (?) in the shape of a monolithic octagonal tub, though actually made of three blocks; the upper rim is chamfered; the sides have tall pointed panels with deeply-carved threfoil-headed windows that contain a crowned symbol in each; the inner well of the basin is lead-lined and has a central drain; octagonal plinth with kneeling stone. This font is modern. [NB: the original church was Norman, and was enlarged in the Early English period; according to Bulmer's 1890 Directory of North Yorkshire the modern font here is a gift of the Mulgrave family, probably 19th-century; we have no information on the earlier font of this church].
