Bodham has two entries in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/TG1238/bodham/] [accessed 20 January 2014], but neither church nor cleric is mentioned in them. Blomefield (1805-1810) writes: "The Church is dedicated to All-Saints, and is a rectory [...] William de Wendling, [...] occurs rector about the 52d of Henry III [i.e., 1268]". The present font is noted in Pevsner & Wilson (1997): "Font. Octagonal and C17". Noted and illustrated in Knott (2005). The font consists of an octagonal basin with plain vertical sides; graded moulding on the underbowl chamfer; raised on a plain octagonal pedestal and a moulded lower base, also octagonal. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decoration and ring handle. [NB: White's Gazetteer of Norfolk for 1883 [www.origins.org.uk/genuki/NFK/places/b/bodham/white1883.shtml] [accessed 23 March 2009] mentions a holy-water stoup "outside the entrance door", but does not give a date for it; it could very well be medieval]. [NB: we have no information on the font from the 13th-century church here].
