No entry found for Rangeworthy in the Domesday survey. Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Possibly C13. Irregular octagonal bowl with the corners later chamfered off." Baptismal font consisting of a plain quadrangular basin of irregular proportions with tapering sides and chamfered angles, raised on a quadrangular pedestal also with chamfered angles and a similarly shaped narrow lower base. The font is covered in thick whitewash [NB: it is possible that the chamfering may have been done at a later date to give the font an octagonal appearance, as suggested by Verey & Brooks above]. The wooden cover is flat and of the same shape as the basin; it has two handles and a carved centre; appears modern. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST6866186248] notes: "Anglican Parish Church. C11, C15 alterations, extended and restored, 1851 [...] chamfered square font may be of C13 origin".
