There are two entries for Earlham [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TG1908/earlham/] [accessed 12 September 2015], one of which mentions a church and 0.11 hides of church land in it. Pevsner & Wilson (1997) note: "Font. Octagonal with quatrefoils." The present font consists of an octagonal basin with a quatrefoil-in-a-circle on each side, between roll mouldings up and down; a cinquefoil arch-head on each side of the underbowl chafer; on an octagona pedestal base with plain rectangular paels on the sides, and a plain splaying lower base, also octagonal. Wooden font cover, octagonal, flat and plain, with a metal ring handle; modern.
