The Brentford entry in the Victoria County History (Middlesex, vol. 7, 1982) [www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=22583] [accessed 23 March 2007] mentions a font in the Mission church of St. Faith, on Windmill Rd, Old Brentford: "font and altar from chapel of St. James' Palace, Westm[inster]." The present font at St Faith's appears to be modern, octagonal with basin panels busily carved; stands on the kind of multiple-step plinth found in high-Gothic East Anglian fonts.
