Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with vertical sides, each with a deeply-carved quatrefoil panel inscribing a motif or symbol (Tudor rose, shield, etc.); the underbowl is very tall and each panel has a trefoiled arch or window; raised on a short octagonal pedestal base, its sides decorated also with similar trefoiled arches/windows. Octagonal wooden cover, flat but carved. [NB: John Wilkes, of Cam, Gloucs., informs [e-mail to BSI of 22 March 2007] that the 15th-century baptismal font originally from Churchend St. James' is now in the new parish church of St. John at nearby Charfield].
