Scene Description: Source caption: "The church is now redundant and in the care of the Historic Churches Preservation Trust. It dates from the 11th and 12th century onwards. There is a nave and chancel under a single roof with north aisle and south porch. It is built of coursed rubble and ashlar with a plain tiled roof. The west gable wall has buttresses and a large late 12th century buttress. There is a double arched bellcote at the west end."

Scene Description: Source caption: "The church is now redundant and in the care of the Historic Churches Preservation Trust. It dates from the 11th and 12th century onwards. There is a nave and chancel under a single roof with north aisle and south porch.[...] The nave has a late 12th century two Bay north arcade with round arches and octagonal piers. The west wall has a blocked 11th century triangular headed doorway. There is also part of an 11th century pillar piscina in the chancel. There is a drum shaped 11th century font with blind arcading. The church contains early 18th-century box pews with a large family pew and double-decker pulpit."

There are three entries for Stragglethorpe [variant spelling] in the Domesday book, as noted in Charles Gowen Smith's A Translation of that Portion of Domesday Book which Relates to Lincolnshire and Rutlandshire (London: Simpkin, Marshall & Co., [1870?]), one of which reports "a priest with a church" in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Drum-shaped, Norman, with blank arches on colonnettes." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK9133652415] notes: "Parish Church, now vested in the Historic Churches Preservation Trust. C11, late C12, C15 and C18, restored c1980. [...] C11 triangular headed doorway. Fragment of C11, pillar piscina in chancel. Drum shaped C11 font with blind arcading." Described and illustrated in the CRSBI (2007) where it is reported that "the font was at one time broken into three horizontal pieces. The top fragment, containing the arches, has a stippled surface".
