Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], simple. Font cover. Jacobean." The entry for this church in Historic England [Legacy System number: 193643] notes: "C12 in origin. Tower of uncertain, pre-C15 date. Otherwise, the church is wholly of the C15 and was apparently built in a single building campaign completed in 1451. [...] Very fine C15 octagonal font with quatrefoil panelling and a waisted stem. The octagonal font cover is C17, and has panelled sides and a conical spire with crockets." The Churches Conservation Trust, in whose care the church is now, dates the font to the 15th century again . It is thought to have been moved several times but, nonetheless to be original to the church; the CCT also notes that the font cover is 'largely 17thc.' Raised on a two-step plinth with kneeling stone. The basin shows evidence of repair(s) with stone insert, possibly where damage occurred around the metal staples of the cover.
