There are three entries for Spalding [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF2422/spalding/] [accessed 7 January 2019] none of which mentions cleric or church in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note a baptismal font "by Scott" here. The steps from Scott's font were removed in 2013. [NB: the church itself goes back to the end of the 13th century, but we have no information of the earlier font(s) of this church].
