There is an entry for [South] Thoresby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF4076/south-thoresby/] [accessed 3 August 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], of the pattern-book type so frequent around here. Five panels with window patterns, Dec[orated] and Perp[endicular], two with bigger tracery patterns, one now invisible." The entry for the replacement church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF4013977070] notes: "Parish church. 1738, restored 1872. [...] fittings are C19 except for the C14 octagonal font with traceried panels to the bowl."
