There are three entries for Rochester [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TQ7468/rochester/] [accessed 17 September 2019] one of which reports a church in it. Glynne (1877) reports "an ancient font" in this church. The decorative elements of the octagonal basin of this font are illustrated in a [ca. 1800?] drawing by Thomas Fisher in the Catalogue of Drawings & Museum Objects of the Society of Antiquaries of London [http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue/specColl/SoA_images/detail.cfm?object=1507&CFID=572257&CFTOKEN=80284650] [accessed 13 January 2008]. Lewis' Dictionary of 1848 reports "an antique font" in this church. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TQ7402468065] notes: "Parish Church. W tower of c.1458-65; nave and chancel with N and S aisles (with galleries) 1823-4 by Sydney Smirke; sanctuary with side vestries, 1839-40 by Richard Hussey; 'Decorated' style E window inserted 1872"; no font mentioned.
