There are four entries for [North] Ormsby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF2893/north-ormsby/] [accessed 7 May 2019] none of which mentions cleric or church in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoils and one shield." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF2891593240] describes it as a modern church: "Parish church, now closed, and tomb enclosure. 1848 by S. S. Teulon, in Early English style", from which "All fittings removed apart from C19 pulpit and C15 octagonal font." [NB: the terms "church, now closed" and "fittings removed" refer to the fact that the church became redundant in 1980 and was later sold for use as private dwelling -- the 19th-century re-building by Teulon must have been done on a previous building, at least 15th-century, if the font is indicative of its age -- also in this church, outside, in the churchyard, a 14th-century cross base and fragment of the shaft are reported in a separate entry in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF2891593229]]. [NB: according to the EH entry above the font and pulpit were not removed from the church].
