Scene Description: Source caption: "St Andrew's church, Kelby. Grade I listed. The church dates from the 12th century onwards. The tower and spire were rebuilt in 1850. The tower has gargoyles and a fish weather vane. There are north and south aisles, the two bay north arcade is 12th century, with round piers. The south arcade is 13th century with octagonal piers. The nave has clerestory Windows from the 15th century. There is a set of 14th century poppyhead bench ends and a large octagonal font from the same time. The South wall of the chancel has an aumbry."

Church Notes: Kelby church is a chapelry of Heydour
Rickman (1825) mentions a font at Kelby in reference to the Perpendicular font at Crowland. Lewis' Dictionary of 1848 notes: "the font is very ancient". [NB: the font is not mentioned in Pevsner et al. (1989)]. Listed in English Heritage [Listing NGR: TF0035941424] (1967): "C14 large plain octagonal ont with stop chamfers to the square base."
