In his entry for the baptismal font at St . Peter's, Orrin (1988) notes: "This present 15th-century font replaced an earlier 13th-century font described and illustrated by C. B. Fowler in his 'Rambling sketches from the old churches in the Diocese of Llandaff (1896) with the exception of the base and plinth. This substitution must have taken place early in this century."
