Scene Description: Source caption: "All Saints' church, Laughton, Lincs. A gem of a church with a 12th century north arcade and 13th century south arcade then Decorated and Perpendicular work in the tower. But it is the work of celebrated Victorian church architect G.F.Bodley in 1894-6 that is particularly striking. The chancel and its furnishings were endowed by the Hon. Mrs. Meynell-Ingram and are as good as can be found anywhere."

No individual entry found for Gautby in the Domesday survey. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with pointed quatrefoils. From Laughton, near Gainsborough." The website of the All Saints' Church, Gautby notes: "The Font came from Laughton-by-Gainsborough" [source: www.vynerscottage.co.uk/pages/Churches/All_Saints_Gautby.htm] [accessed 17 June 2007]. The entry for Gautby All Saints' in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF1747072439] notes: "Parish church. Rebuilt in 1754, incorporating some medieval work, by Robert Vyner of Gautby Park, as a family chapel, reseated in 1914. [...] The C15 octagonal font with quatrefoil side panels, came from aughton, near Gainsborough."
