Baptismal font consisting of a hexagonal (?) tapering basin, a narrow round centre ring, and a round-t-square lower base; the whole is busily decorated and brightly painted in meringue-white, gold and blue; below the upper rim of the basin runs a Latin inscription with the date 1607 (?); at the six (?) angles of the basin sides Baroque-looking full-figured angles; on each side of the basin is a rounded cartouche containing: 1)Baptism of Christ in the Jordan; 2)a representation of the Trinity (?); 3)figure with tablet and ox or bull head, probably St. Luke; 4)damaged figure with eagle, probably St. John the Evangelist; 5)a charged shield; 6)figure with table sitting on a lion head, probably St. Mark. The centre ring has a cherub head at each angle, and the lower base has a large scroll at each angle and what appear to be animal heads on the sides.
