There are five entries for Narholm [variant spellings] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF0810/barholm/] [accessed 30 September 2018], none of which mentions cleric or church in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note: "Font. Heptagonal, Norman, with the oldest jumble of unconnected, isolated motifs: a short length of dogtooth, rows of small circles, five-petalled flowers, a spiral, etc." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF0900610976] notes: "Parish church. C11, mid C12, late C13, C14, 1648 tower rebuilt, 1855 and 1857 restoration [...] Early C13 octagonal font with C19 base, the sides of the bowl are decorated with a variety of relief motifs. including concentric circles, quatrefoils, zigzags and waves. C19 elaborately carved openwork font cover."
