There are two entries for [South] Luffenham [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK9401/south-luffenham/] [accessed 21 July 2015], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. The Victoria County History (Rutland, vol. 2, 1935) notes: "The original church was probably an aisleless building with small chancel, and was enlarged c. 1190–1200 [...] The chancel was restored about 1850, and in 1861 there was an extensive restoration of the whole of the fabric, under the direction of G. E. Street [...] The 14th-century font has an octagonal bowl with quatrefoil panels on seven sides, on an octagonal stem and chamfered base." Noted in Pevsner (1984): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoils."
