The RCAHM (Montgomery, 1911) notes: "The font is of the 16th century". The CPAT Montgomery Churches Survey [www.cpat.demon.co.uk] [accessed 31 December 2006] notes that in the 1859 restoration under R.K. Penson, "the font was placed on a raised pedestal near the south door". The wooden font cover is tall and decorated with open-work tracery.
