No individual entry for Lampter Velfrey found in the Domesday survey. The entry for this church in the RCAHMW (Pembroke, 1925) reports a square baptismal font. The listing for this church in COFLEIN [NPRN 103762] [https://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/103762/details/st-peters-church-lampeter-velfry] [accessed 27 December 2019] notes: "The site may be early medieval in origin. The church was first mentioned in the Taxation of 1291. A post-Conquest churchyard cross stands in the southern part of the churchyard. [...] The square font bowl and stem date from around 1200." The entry for this church in British Listed Buildings [https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300006055-church-of-st-peter-lampeter-velfrey#.W6kDENhKjfY] [accessed 27 December 2019] reports: "The font is square, tapered beneath, on a square pillar, with a black slab step." Noted in Thurlby (2006) in a long "List of scalloped table-top fonts in Pembrokeshire" [NB: if there were scallops on it they may have been done away with at some point]. The church underwent major restorations in 1860 and in 1998, but the medieval font was retained.
