Noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). Described in Pevsner (1984): "Font. Late C13. Richly but coarsely decorated. On eight shafts with eight pointed-trefoiled blank arches. They have gables with long crockets. Heads in the spandrels." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SK7794710492] notes: "Parish church. C12, C13, C14. Restored 1714, 1763, further restored 1865 and chancel restored 1883 by R. W. Johnson. North transept (vestry) added by T. Bown, 1887 [...] Late C13 octagonal font with 3 gabled blind arches with crockets and masks, on 8 round shafts."
