There is an entry for Redmile [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SK7935/redmile/] [accessed 24 July 2015], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. A font here is noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). Described in Pevsner (1984): "Font. Octagonal, Perp[endicular], with quatrefoiled panels on stem and bowl." The decoration on the stem is actually a varied set of tracery motifs, some of which are indeed quatrefoiled; those on the basin contain a floral motif in each, al different.
