No entry found for Normanton-le-Heath in the Domesday survey. The English Heritage entry [Listing NGR: SK3773412773] (1965) notes: "Font probably predates church, and is similar type to that in Ibstock, a ribbed block." Pevsner (1984) writes: "Font. Circular, with rolls or ribs up the bowl. Is it C13?" The pedestal base and plinth appear to be either modern or re-cut. The font cover is round, flat and plain; modern.
