Noted in Parker (1849): "The font is octagonal, late Perpendicular." In Whellan (1849), after Parker. Described in the Victoria County History (Northampton, vol. 4, 1937): "The earliest parts of the building are the lower part of the tower and the south doorway, which are of late12th-century date. [...] The font is of 15th-century date, with octagonal panelled bowl and stem: it has a pyramidal oak cover." The VCH mentions this font as similar to the one in nearby Weston Favell. Described in Mee (1945): "15th century font, with its original pyramid cover. It is a superb centrepiece; its bowl is carved with roses, the shaft having widow tracery." In Pevsner & Cherry (1973): "Octagonal, Perp[endicular], the stem with blank tracery panelling, the bowl with quatrefoils, a rosette, a large leaf, etc. Font cover. Octagonal, spire-shaped, with crockets up the angles." The parish web site has: "By the south door is the the Font and is used as the Baptistry. The Font is of 15th century date and originally stood at the back of the Nave, and was for a time under the tower, and was moved to its present position in 2000. The oak font cover also of 15th century date is in the tower room. Octagonal in shape, it has some good carving including roses, shields, circles, leaves and quatrefoils."
