The BBC Homepage Wales Home [www.bbc.co.uk/wales/southwest/sites/local_history/pages/st_catharines_church.shtml] [accessed 11 October 2006] notes: "The general design of the font is similar [to that of the pulpit], stone inset with alabaster, supported by marble columns, with panels of symbolic design", obviously a description of the High Victorian baptismal font in this church; but the same source notes also: "At the west end of the church, in the north corner is what appears to be an old stone font -- possibly Norman." [NB: this may be the old font from the medieval church of St. Baglan, in this same place; it burned down in 1954]
